All program participants and visitors must be 18 years or older. The Esalen Institute will continue to maintain an adult-only space for our regularly scheduled programming.
A locals rate option is available to those who reside in Big Sur or the Monterey Peninsula (a valid ID with a Big Sur or Monterey Peninsula address must be shown upon arrival). Total guest number must match the number selected in the Guests in Room drop-down menu of your selected accommodation in Section 2 Choose Your Accommodations. If you did not complete this step when selecting your accommodation, go back to Section 2 Choose Your Accommodations. If registering for multiple guests, guest details must be entered for each guest in Section 3 Multiple Guests.
If you cancel or reschedule your reservation: ● 90 or more days prior to your arrival date, you will be charged a $75.00 fee. For cancellations, any remaining amount paid will be refunded. ● 30 to 89 days prior to your arrival date, you will be charged a fee of 15% of the reservation total. For cancellations, any remaining amount paid will be refunded. ● 15 to 29 days prior to your arrival date, you will be charged a fee of 30% of the reservation total. For cancellations, any remaining amount paid will be refunded. ● Less than 15 days prior to your arrival date, you will forfeit the entire reservation total and no refund will be provided. Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to your arrival date are ineligible for reschedule.
To reserve your space, we require a minimum deposit of 50% of the reservation total.
The full payment of the reservation’s balance is due 15 days before arrival and is automatically charged to your credit card.
