And there came a time when the risk of remaining closed tight in a bud far outweighed the risk it took to bloom.” – Anaïs Nin

Spring is the season of new beginnings; it brings major shifts and changes. It is a time of rebirth and renewal, as well as rigorous expansion. Spring brings a powerful uplifting energy is needed to help crack a seed and push it through cold, hardened soil so the plant can bud and bloom.

This transformative spring energy is not only all around us — it’s within us. It’s time to till our inner soil, release layers of winter sludge, and reset our inner conditions for growth — and to bloom along with the expansion towards summer.

Join Jillian for a deeply clearing Spring Equinox Retreat, designed to help you remove heaviness and invite in fresh energy, preparing you to fully bloom into the season and into your life. With an emphasis on grounding and opening to flow along with change, Jillian will weave together teachings and practices to help you thrive during times of paradox, ambiguity, and contradiction, as well as embrace hope, love, beauty, and joy. More than ever, we can benefit by pausing and restoring our energy, aligning with nature and nurturing ourselves so we can better nurture our world.

To further this potent practice, renowned musician and composer Garth Stevenson will add deeply healing vibrations of the bowed double bass; helping us cultivate the balance between the rigorous energy of spring and the spacious promise of new beginnings.

Through mindful slow-flow yoga, restorative yoga, meditation, and more, you’ll bloom back into your body and your life as you explore:

  • Releasing blocked energy and melting layers of deeply held tension.
  • Receiving the rejuvenating benefits of a variety of Ayurvedic “spring cleaning” practices.
  • Reconnecting with yourself through yoga nidra and restorative yoga.
  • Expanding through revitalizing and uplifting yoga and meditation practices.
  • Cultivating a balance of groundedness and openness that allows you to be with life’s challenges while expanding your ability to choose how you wish to meet the present moment.

Join us for this special weekend at Esalen.

Garth Stevenson was raised in Western Canada, where nature became his primary inspiration and the common thread between his life and music. His albums, Alpine, Flying, and Voyage, are informed by his experiences carrying his 160-year-old double bass into nature, including Antarctica and Tuva.
