Beyond the “Revolving Door”: Gestalt Relational Constellations
With Nancy Lunney-Wheeler and Gordon Wheeler
October 20 - 24, 2025
Gestalt Relational Constellations (GRC) takes an in-depth look at the hidden dynamics of any human system we belong to and care about. Using Gestalt themes of embodied experience, desire, experimentation, and “right-brain” image-based learning, we can move beyond the familiar stories we are carrying about our issues to find new supports and options in our lives and relationships.
Developed at Esalen in the early 2000s by Nancy Lunney-Wheeler and Gordon Wheeler, GRC builds on the pioneering work of Bert Hellinger and his associates’ Family Constellations method. Rooted in the Esalen ethos — honoring direct experience, mutual presence, and the transformative potential within each of us — this reimagining reflects a broader evolution from expert-driven models to participant-led insight. Much like Dick Price’s shift from Fritz Perls’ Gestalt therapy to Gestalt practice, GRC emphasizes inner authority over therapist authority and invites a co-creative, relational approach.
GRC may be used to explore the dynamics of any systemic problem — family of origin, current family system, interpersonal or work issues, or even such “internal” issues as important decisions or pivotal crossroads. Participants often find that the outcome of this work is to open new possibilities in their relationships and lives.
In addition to working with our own presenting issues and constellations, workshop participants will also act as representatives in the constellations of others, which can expand our horizons of experience and open new perspectives on issues in our lives and those of people we care about.
This workshop is open to anyone seeking deeper insight into recurring life patterns — particularly ones that may have proved resistant to other change methods. No prior experience with Gestalt or constellation work is required, though a willingness to engage experientially and support others in their exploration is essential.
