Fundamentals of Esalen® Massage
With Daniela Urbassek and Brita Ostrom
February 23 - 28, 2020
This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for you to enjoy the natural beauty of the Esalen land, while gaining foundation in the art and practice of Esalen Massage. During the week, participants will be offered massage methods addressing the whole body, including Esalen’s signature long flowing strokes that support a sense of wholeness, connection and integration. Each day will include massage demonstrations and instruction in various self-care methods, with supervised practice in giving and receiving a massage.
Daniela and Brita will share their skills in addressing the major muscle groups, with specific techniques, gentle stretches and explorations with range of motion and movement. They will work with each participant, accommodating the group’s different levels of experience. Beginners will gain the basic tools and techniques to more skillfully massage their partners, friends and family. Experienced practitioners will be offered techniques that can easily be integrated into their massage sessions, inspiring and infusing their work with a deep sense of presence and flow. This workshop is especially useful for those in the helping/healing professions in working with their clients and patients. Join us for a week of learning, healing, nurturing and play!
