There are many misconceptions about Reiki, a practice said to have originated anywhere from Egypt to Tibet — or even from angels and aliens. But what’s real? And what is Reiki? Where did it come from? Why are there so many different kinds? And how do they compare?

This weekend course offers students a chance to learn the fundamentals of Reiki from both historical and experiential perspectives. During this class, we will discuss Reiki’s origins in Japan, how it was influenced by other practices, and how it evolved over time. While this is not a Reiki certification class, attendees will learn various aspects of Reiki practice, including forms of meditation taught by Reiki’s founder, Usui Mikao, and have opportunities to experience self-treatment and partner work.

You will be taught forms of meditation designed to strengthen one’s ability to connect to Reiki’s universal source and to increase the flow of Reiki through one’s body.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in an empowerment ceremony. Reiki initiation is not offered in this course, but we will discuss what initiation entails and how to choose an authentic Reiki master, if you choose that path.

For those who wish to stay an additional night, you will have the chance to continue your deep dive with Diane and Justin on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
