This workshop is intended for Yin Yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners with a minimum two years of practice, who are interested in using the Yin yoga class as a doorway for developing the subtle body, mindfulness practice and psychological inquiry. Prerequisite: We require that you have taken Insight Yoga Teacher Training Primary Level with Sarah Powers: Essential Teachings on Yin Yoga and Mindfulness, and that you know how to sequence yang poses with yin sequences.

This is a 30-hour Yoga Alliance training. To be eligible for the certificate, there is an essay requirement that will be assigned at the end of the training. Those who are unable to attend all of the classes will be awarded the certificate based only on the hours attended. Please plan your time and travel accordingly in order to not miss any of the sessions. In this workshop, we will not focus on how and why to practice Yin Yoga — this material is covered in the primary level training. Instead, we will explore the inner methods (pranic and mind training) through various breath patterns and retentions, visualizations for the health of the organs, contemplations in the poses and the foundation methods of Buddhist mindfulness. Each day will include a lecture, yin yoga session, seated meditation practices focusing on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and interactive discussion time. You will be provided a reading list before the training begins and are required to read the books assigned for this training before they arrive.

Note: Registration for this workshop is through Sarah Powers only. Please visit https://sarahpowers.com/iyi/insight-yoga-teacher-training-intensive-secondary-level-november-2019/ for registration details. Only after you have registered and paid tuition fees will you be able to reserve accommodations at Esalen.
