Now, as we face so much accelerated and multi-faceted change, we are each called to serve what we love and want to protect from the deepest parts of our being. Relational Mindfulness offers 9 principles and practices for meeting the beautiful, dynamic, and messy field of human relating as our laboratory for awakening. It offers a path for cultivating greater peace, understanding, joy, and resilience amidst the turmoil that is often happening in our outer worlds.

Sitting alone on a meditation cushion is a wholly different exercise than engaging socially, at work, in conflict, politics, or romance. Or is it? Just as the breath provides an anchor when we sit, deep embodied listening – both within and to others – can anchor us in our social interactions.

Intimacy begins with our willingness to see clearly – beyond the myth of separation. We have to learn how to “be with” the pretty and less-pretty aspects of ourselves without needing to fix, solve, or change anything. How to love all the facets of our authentic selves. When we do, we become freer in our lived experience, relationships and expression. In this way the ground of being or shared presence becomes the gateway to personal and collective healing.

The principles are:

  • Intention
  • The Sacred Pause
  • Deep Listening
  • Mindful Inquiry & Clear Seeing
  • Transparency & Speaking from the Heart
  • Turning Towards, Rather than Away
  • Not Taking Personally
  • Taking Responsibility
  • Compassionate Action

What we’ll explore together includes:

  • Relational mindfulness practices to strengthen our capacity for meeting community, collaboration, adversity, conflicts, and trauma with compassion, equanimity, and conscious response.
  • Ways in which we are co-evolving leadership itself to become more inclusive, more relationally-attuned and -oriented.
  • How expanding our capacity for inquiry, deep listening, and embodiment can support and strengthen our ability to see clearly – from the heart – and receive guidance as we meet life’s challenges.
  • Ways to resource ourselves and one another to navigate the times we are facing with compassion and resilience.
  • Support for engaging in our lives with love, wholeness, and fierce compassion rather than fear, scarcity or the myth of separation.

Join us for a restorative and transformative exploration of the personal, interpersonal, transpersonal, ecological, societal, and mystical impacts of Relational Mindfulness. This restorative retreat will include embodied meditation, relational mindfulness and experiential practices, conscious movement, reflective writing, and deep time in nature. All are welcome.
