Come rest and rejuvenate yourself in good company during this darkest time of the year, which also is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the return of light and the joy of life. We will integrate meditation practices with revolutionary research in neuroscience to explore the transformational power of meditation during this profound seasonal milestone.

In this workshop, you will be taught simple yet potent meditation practices, including mindfulness meditation, loving-kindness, and mindful movement and yoga. We will also learn about new research in neuroscience that offers this hopeful message: We can change and reshape our brain to live healthier, happier lives. We will become familiar with specific practices and techniques for cultivating greater joy, ease, presence and genuine compassion, and explore how to integrate these effortlessly into our daily lives. We will immerse ourselves in the striking natural beauty of Esalen, allowing the sounds and vistas of the ocean, the exquisite coastline, and bountiful gardens to nourish and support our practice during the winter solstice.

This workshop is appropriate for beginning and experienced meditators who want to awaken the mind and open the heart. Be prepared for unexpected delight and deep nourishment as the planet turns toward the light of a new year.

This workshop is suitable for all health care and education professionals in working with their clients and patients.

There will be a celebratory Christmas Eve dinner in the Esalen Lodge.
